THE MEANING OF YOGA
YOGA IS MORE THAN A WORKOUT. IT MEANS Union. Connection. MEETING yourself.
Yoga is more than Asana and more than a workout.
The word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit root yuj, meaning to join or unite. It describes the connection between body, breath, mind, and awareness.
In a busy life, that connection can easily get lost. Yoga invites us to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with ourselves.
The physical postures are only one part of the practice. Yoga is also breath, awareness, stillness, and the way we meet ourselves and others on and beyond the mat.
“Yoga is more than what happens on the mat. It shows in how we meet ourselves and how we meet life.”
MY APPROACH TO YOGA
YOGA AS A PRACTICE FOR BODY, MIND & Every Day Life
For me, yoga is definitely NOT a workout.
In modern life, we often move through the day disconnected from ourselves. We rush, perform, react, and keep going, while the signals of the body and the quieter voice within us get pushed into the background.
Yoga offers a way back.
Through movement, breath, stillness, and attention, the practice helps us reconnect with ourselves and become more aware of what is happening within.
The physical postures are only one part of yoga. The teachings of the Yoga Sutras also invite us to look at how we relate to ourselves, how we treat others, where we place our attention, and how consciously we move through life.
That is why I teach classes with a clear intention. I weave in breathwork, nervous system regulation, yogic philosophy, and small pieces of wisdom that encourage you to explore the practice beyond the shapes.
I also prefer to keep the physical practice relatively simple. For me, yoga is not about performing the fanciest pose or pushing the body into something that looks impressive. It is about moving with awareness, noticing how you feel, and staying connected to your breath and your body throughout the practice.
The breath becomes an anchor. Movement becomes more mindful. The practice becomes less about doing and more about feeling, listening, and creating space within.
It is not simply about becoming more flexible or stronger. It is about finding balance between effort and ease, movement and stillness, body and mind.
And ultimately, coming home to yourself.
Through a gentle blend of flowing asanas, mindful breathwork (pranayama) and simple meditation, we deepen body awareness, quiet the mind, and reconnect with ourselves.
WHY YOGA
HOW YOGA SUPPORTS STRENGTH, MOBILITY, BALANCE & INNER CALM
Yoga brings together movement, breath, awareness, and stillness to support both physical and mental wellbeing.
It helps us move with more awareness, listen more closely to the body, and create space for balance, clarity, and connection.
For me, that is where the real value of yoga lies. Not in doing more, but in becoming more present in how we move, breathe, and meet ourselves.
01
Supporting mobility, joint health, posture, strength, and body awareness through mindful movement and breath.
Yoga helps you move with more awareness, balance, and connection, both on the mat and in everyday life. Over time, the body can feel stronger, more open, and more connected from within.
For the body.
02
For the mind & nervous system.
Yoga creates space to slow down, reconnect, and return to yourself with more clarity and calm.
Through pranayama, meditation, and mindful movement, the mind can become quieter, the nervous system more settled, and a deeper sense of presence can emerge.
You leave feeling more grounded, balanced, and connected, both physically and mentally.
03
Yoga is one of the foundations that connects everything I offer. It builds body awareness, breath awareness, mobility, balance, and a stronger connection between body and mind. It also supports a more conscious way of moving, training, and recovering.
For me, yoga creates the awareness that carries into everything else. It helps movement become more mindful, training more sustainable, Breathwork more accessible, and recovery more intentional.
Everything begins with awareness, and yoga creates space for exactly that.
Why I integrate it.
YOGA styles
Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, and YinYasa. Three different ways to experience yoga, depending on what your body, mind, and everyday life need in the moment.
YIN YOGA >
-
A slower practice that invites stillness, deeper awareness, and space to listen inward.
Through longer held postures, Yin Yoga gently works with the fascia, connective tissues, and joints, while also incorporating the meridian and energy line principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
VINYASA FLOW >
-
Creative, dynamic flows that build strength, mobility, balance, and vitality while helping to ground and focus the mind.
Guided by the connection of movement and breath, the practice becomes a moving meditation that cultivates presence, awareness, energy, and inner balance.
YINYASA YOGA >
-
My favorite practice, inspired by the balance of Yin and Yang, blending stillness and movement, softness and strength, grounding and flow.
We begin slowly with Yin to soften, breathe, and create space in the body, before gradually transitioning into a more dynamic Vinyasa flow to awaken energy, vitality, and focus.
A balanced practice that supports both body and mind, helping you feel more grounded, energised, and centred.
Yin Yoga CLASSES IN BERLIN-köpenick
Slow. Deep. Grounding.
Yin Yoga is a practice of stillness, softness, and inner listening. Through longer held postures, the body gradually begins to soften while the nervous system has space to slow down and settle.
In our fast paced, constantly stimulated world, slowing down can feel surprisingly difficult, even when it is exactly what body and mind are asking for.
That is one of the reasons I love teaching Yin Yoga so much. I feel its calming and grounding effect every time I teach, and I love witnessing the shift in people from the beginning to the end of class. Softer faces. Deeper breaths. A quieter energy in the room.
I am also deeply drawn to the energetic side of the practice, inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine and the meridian system, creating another layer of connection between body, breath, energy, and inner awareness.
Yin is not about doing more. It is about consciously slowing down, softening, and giving yourself space to reset physically, mentally, and emotionally.

QUESTIONS BEFORE YOUR BOOKING
-
Absolutely not. Yoga isn’t about touching your toes; it’s about what you learn on the way down. We use props and modifications to meet your body exactly where it is today.
-
Vinyasa is active and flows with the breath to build heat and strength. Yin is slow and passive, holding floor-based poses for several minutes to target deep connective tissues and calm the nervous system.
-
Yes. Meditation in my classes is approached as a simple tool for presence, not a task to "clear your mind." I guide you through it step-by-step.
-
For in-person sessions in Berlin, it’s great if you have your own, but I can provide equipment if we coordinate in advance. For online sessions, you just need a quiet space and a stable surface.
-
Yes. If you already move regularly and feel generally comfortable being active, you are very welcome to join.
My classes are all levels, and I always offer different variations so you can find the version that feels right for your body. You do not need to keep up with anyone else or get every pose right.
If you have significant mobility limitations, have never really exercised before, or know that faster transitions and new group settings can feel overwhelming, a dedicated beginner class may be a gentler place to start.
If you are open, curious, and willing to give yourself a little time, you will usually find your way into the practice after a few classes.
-
Yes. I am a certified CERTIFICATIONS with extensive training in Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yoga, and Meditation. My background in functional anatomy and somatic movement ensures that every practice is supportive and grounded in professional standards.
